On a magical Saturday, the enchanting Kristin Chenoweth, known for her iconic role as Glinda the Good Witch, and her beloved Josh Bryant, tied the knot in a splendid pink-themed wedding, capturing the heart of Dallas, Texas.
Before the ceremony, the 55-year-old bride, who had always proudly embraced her single status, candidly shared with People, “I’ve been a self-proclaimed bachelorette my whole life.” She even mentioned her previous engagement to actor Marc Kudisch from 1998 to 2001, which didn’t end in marriage. However, everything changed when she met Josh. She recalled, “Until I met Josh, I was like, ‘Why would I ever let this guy go?’ I’m so blessed.”
Josh, a talented musician at 41, had an intuitive feeling that Kristin’s vivacious personality would shine through the wedding. He playfully quipped, “Without having to even ask Kristin, I knew that the theme would probably be pink-oriented in some way.” Kristin chimed in, “On that day, I want to look and feel like Kristin, and I want Josh to see the girl that he has been with for five years. I’m going to look glamorous and all that, but my hair isn’t going to be up to heaven, even though we’ll be in Texas. It’s going to look like me.”
However, Josh added with a smile, “Don’t let her fool you. Normal to Kristin is like 110 percent.”
As Kristin walked down the aisle, she wore a Pamella Roland gown with a sheer pink overlay and elegant bow detailing on the back. She confessed, “I didn’t want to wear white.” The gown, both simple and elegant, featured delicate pearl flower detailing on the bodice. She explained, “I never thought I’d get married, so I went very nontraditional with the gown. I love it.”
The wedding décor harmoniously echoed the theme with a romantic blend of white, pink, and champagne tones. The venue was adorned with calla lilies, garden roses, spray roses, and hydrangeas.
The festivities commenced with a delightful rehearsal dinner at Capital Grille on Friday, complete with a custom Baskin-Robbins cake. On the big day, 140 cherished guests, including Kathy Najimy, David Foster, Katharine McPhee, and Kenny Ortega, gathered at a private residence to witness the couple’s heartfelt vows.
During the ceremony, officiated by a close friend, Kristin and Josh exchanged their own version of traditional vows. With a touch of humor, the Broadway star quipped that she wouldn’t “say ‘obey.'”
After the emotional ceremony, guests enjoyed custom cocktails, including the “Wicked Margarita” and the “Bryant Old Fashioned.” To satisfy late-night cravings, the Tony winner treated everyone to her favorite snacks – Dunkin’ Donuts and slurpees from 7-11.
The love story of Kristin and Josh began in 2016 when they crossed paths at Kristin’s niece’s wedding, where Josh’s band, Backroad Anthem, performed. Fate brought them together again two years later when Josh’s band provided the entertainment at another wedding Kristin attended. She recalled, “We had become friends by this time, and that’s when he came on strong. Josh asked me where I was going to be playing next, and it was North Carolina. I said, ‘I’m busy. I don’t have time, da, da, da.’ And he shows up to the concert, and that was it for me.”
Despite their notable 14-year age difference, Kristin couldn’t help but gush, “He’s made me feel very confident and beautiful and loved at any age.” In October 2021, after three years of dating, Josh sealed their love story with a proposal.
In the end, Kristin Chenoweth’s pink Texas wedding was not just a celebration of love but a reflection of her vibrant personality and the enchanting journey that brought her and Josh together. It was a day where fairytales came to life, and love took center stage.
